I think i read on here that If te clam is not happy he will move himself to a better place.

I am worried about my clam moving and getting hurt in my tank. He is to large for the tank in my opinion but I agreed to purchase him before I knew his exact size. Is this possible for him to turn loose of his foot and move across the tank getting into trouble?

This is him nice and open in my tank about 60 seconds ago.

The tank is a 40b with a 150watt 14k mh 8 inches above the water.

As for exact water tests all are fine and mg and phosphate are unknown because I don't test for em. (Don't judge me)

Looks like a happy clam to me! They can move a bit, but not like a nem. They tend to release and jet themselves to a new spot. Kinda random to see where they attach to and if they like it. If nor, release and roll to a new spot ;)
