Overflow box by a company like eshopps and a solid dc return pump would get you going. Fuge in the bottom, no need to get a skimmer imo.

Diy kits on ebay or by fiji cube or egg crate lol.

As far as fish stocking. Stick to 3, 2 clowns and a watchman or other pistol companion.

For inverts, a cleaner or peppermint shrimp, Sexy shrimp, pistol shrimp, and porcelain crab would be cool.

CUC, urchin like a tuxedo or halloween. Snails, hermits, etc. Maybe a small conch if you do a deep sand bed?

If HOB, a single Aquaclear 50 or 2 would work fine. Bubble magus qq1 was an excellent skimmer for this tank.

Coral wise, you need some that can handle the sting of a nem like a toadstool leather. dont know of any others but there is quite a variety of toadstools out there.

Here is a photo of my 29g on a Eshopps RS75 sump, using the HOB overflow. Tying in my 20 gal this week using the Fiji Cube 12.

My lighting option is the Glowrium Reef Light from amazon, a little over $100 with prime. I have a thread on these if you want to learn more. 30-36" model.

Once it clears up...

Ive got that exact same led zep poster! Lol

I’m impressed with the Led Zeppelin poster at your age! I would like to suggest a tailspot blenny, small fish, huge personality and small bioload.

thanks for the input! I ended up ordering the aqua clear 20, idk where I would put the skimmer tbh.

There was this older teenager that lived up the street from me growing up & the only music he would listen to was Zeppelin. His name was Billy Bob, never attended school, his family were legit devil worshippers as my parents called them. Burning crosses in the middle of the night & everything. So, never listened to Led Zeppelin since

I would also agree to stick to as few fish as you can on a small tank.

I have a used bubble magus qq1 i can ship. You just have to cut out the lip on the lid to work. Speaking of, a good lid will help you prevent losss of your fish. 1/4" clear netting from amazon is what I will use. I plan to make new screen soon actually. I just need to 3d print some inside corners and other ones to make it work around my light and overflow box.

Def recommend a better wave maker too, I have an extra hydor aquamai wifi one. has good presets, I believe it can do up to a 25 gal.
