So my two clowns (one is larger than the other, so I know she is a she). My female use to chase my male and he would do his side spasm of submission. Well the other day I saw my female do this to my male. Go on her side and spasm. What does that mean?

Feed them live food like black worms for a few weeks an see if they lay some eggs. Mine lay every 2 weeks.
Raising clowns is another matter.

Sometimes the female will return the submissive seizure dance, ime its normal as they get more comfortable with eachother. As far as babies go, they will likely spawn if they are well fed and comfortable (ive heard moon cycles help too). But, raising baby clown fish takes special care. If you dont purposely raise the fry you wont see anything other than eggs that disapeare in a few days.

I plan on raising some. Once she starts laying eggs I’ll get a tank going for that purpose.

How hard is it to get the fry to survive?
Most people do it in dedicated systems. Most ive seen are a bb tank with good filtration to handle lots of food and just a clay pot for the fish to lay nests in. Once the clutch is in the pot you remove the pot and keep in a separate tank to raise them. I dont know all the details but there seem to be specific flow and air required and you generally raise rotifers as food for them to start out with. If you plan on trying id recommend looking up how to culture phytoplankton (rotifer food) and how to culture rotifers as that will at least give you an idea how to be ready for the potential clutch as these things generally cant be ready in a moments notice.

I’ve been doing my homework. I’m not worried about being ready for the first clutch or so.
