Hi All,
So this is not my first tank, but my first go at keeping Fuzzy Sticks. It’s been up since October and so far it’s all good. Test the water all the time and everything checks out great. Had to drop the intensity on my lights some and that seems to be going good. 5 foot long tank with 4 Kessil 360’s and 4 T5 bulbs over it. My lights vary from white to blue depending on the time. Pretty balanced day cycle, sunrise start, white, blue, then sunset. Corals look faded out under white but spectacular under blue. So what do you go by to tell the health of the coral? The faded out look under whiter light or the awesome look under blue?

You look for growth and encrustation.

What you are explaining is a difference in illumination, not the color of the coral... the coral has the same color under the whites and blues, but it is shown off differently. If you stop the white cycle, then the actual color of the coral could change and they will illuminate differently, as well - they might not change too much. Are the T5s on the whole time? Those are your main light source since they have a more complete spectrum and better coverage, so just turn in the Kessils to enhance them however you see fit.

T5’s are on for 4 hours in the middle. LED’s Sunrise to the first part when T5’s turn on. Then after that they go off, then LED’s from sunset to off last part...
