Another anenome hiding thread !!

hello, I just got new anemones.
Question #1 will they stay here and do I need to lower the light to get them out? I want them to be visible from the front of the tank
The flow has been on low/ off near them

question #2
why does this one have a dual tip, I’ve never seen this

They might stay or might not stay :face-with-tears-of-joy: Just depends on if they like the spot they are in. Seems to be the consensus that flow and par are big influencers on the spot that they choose to stay in. I suspect they will both move to the top of the rock, as most RBTAs seem to like more light. As far as the "dual tip" you are referring to, I believe that is just their tentacle splitting into 2.

Anemones like to play musical chairs not much to do lol
Yeah but I been trying to make their spot uncomfortable lol, like changing the light to really low, they stayed the same but I tried cranking the light back up and a couple hours later they come out more lol. Not sure what to do. I def don’t want them back there, I find it odd they all went to the same rock, it’s like they know they’re together lol

Should I move my torches over near the right of the tank so I give them kinda the left half and top to take over lol

I wouldn't play with the lighting too much, they will move on their own. From what I have read, if you put direct flow on them they are likely to move quickly to a new spot. Although, this doesn't always work because I have seen some move right by a powerhead and get blasted but not move. There isn't really a good way to have them stay in a spot that you want them, as they grow they will be much more on display no matter where they are in the tank. Mine rarely move during the day so changing the lighting wouldn't have an effect until the next day anyway but I think that will cause more issues than its worth. No need to move the torches until they start to bother each other. I think the nem is more likely to kill the torch than the other way around, at least from what people have told me.

That was my worry lol, I do not want it to kill my torch , I have a defense going on with the hammer and purple torch around it

They will go where they please , I’ve moved my LTA like 5 times to front and center only for it to go back to its corner. It probly likes it darker idk

Beautiful nems btw but for my tank I am about to put the rock back over them like before. They’re in the open now. Maybe it was just a new tank thing so they hid in the darkest and most dead flow spot

I agree on they will move until they find a place suitable to them , I started with one small rose tip and have the original really big now that is in backside of rock until light on the expands over top. One offspring found its location between rock high up and the last you don’t see because on bottom of back.
as far as bubbles, they do all kinds of things along with periods of long no bubbles at all.

As long as the conditions are what they need, they will never move. If something isn't to their liking, they will roam.
