I picked up a used setup that came with a sump tank, but for some reason it came with this skimmer. I'm thinking it's going to be too big to fit under the tank in the sump if it's hanging on there, but, I'm wondering if it could be submerged and still function properly? Anyone ever tried this?

If not, I may just sell the skimmer separately and get something else. I don't want it on the display tank. That's why I'm upgrading.

It is meant to hang on back of the tank not the sump..... the pump is exposed on the bottom.

I’d sell it and get something more suited for your sump. :)

It's an older model that's flat on the bottom. I didn't know if I could make it work.

Sucks because I was excited about everything being together. I can still hang it on the back of the sump tank but its' just difficult to access that way.
