Hey Fam.
So I am on week 5 fallow after brooks on my 10 gallon AIO. In mean time I have a new build 32 AIO . Going on 10 days cycle.

I asked in a previous post I believe about transferring live rock into either a rear chamber or display tank? I believe brooks needs fish to host. Can I put the LR from old tank to new? And what do you guys think I should do about the power head, id like to add it to the new one?

Ideas?

Thanks

Brook is a parasite that requires a fish host, hence the fallow period. Moving items that aren't fish from tank to tank shouldn't reset the fallow period. No fish=no food

If you are taking the time to go fallow, you should stick with it. If you take something out of a fallow tank and move it before the fallow period is over, you may compromise the new tank.

I don't know the life cycle of brook, but why take the risk? Ich is a parasite that requires a fish host too, but we would never move an object from a tank sitting fallow due to ich. Why? Because several parts of the ich life cycle occur when the parasite is detached from the fish. I don't know if that's the case with Brook, but, again, why take the risk?

Completely agree! I’m waiting another 3 weeks that will be 8-9 weeks fallow

Just curious peoples opinions
