I’m unfortunately leaving the hobby for awhile. I wanted to save my lr so...
How do I clean the rocks so when I get the tank back up and running there’s no need for curing ?

What other types of tanks can I setup ? Besides a mantis tank and reef tank, Like a macro algae tank

Sorry to hear that :( You can run your system or even just sump(what I do)with RO and carbon for a few days and it should be good enough to store

I’m definitely still going to active !

For how long ?
I do it with new RO 2x-3x usually until the water still looks pretty clean after a few days of RO running through the rocks.

I don’t think I’m going to take more than a year break.

Thanks !
Anytime! Hopefully you get back into it soon! Life happens though, I definitely get that.

I was looking at the tank and was wondering if I could stick the rock in a bucket with a heater and power head, just to keep things going. I don’t want to wait a whole 6 months again to add a nem. Also ghost feeding to give something bacteria to eat. Good idea ?

Yes.
Do that.

Im sorry but I need to Vent !

So I set up a meeting yesterday for 2pm today and didn’t hear back from him until 5pm today. He wanted the blenny and shrimp. So I was nice and Didnt ask questions. It took me 2 hours to catch the blenny and Shrimp. I then texted the guy “okay got both of them” and he never replied.

Vent away. It always sucks when someone wants something and doesn’t show up. Especially when a blenny is involved lol. Quick little terds they be lol.

I feel you. Same thing happened to me on several occasions (once for a Blue spot jawfish that was nearly impossible to catch). I've since started donating to the LFS instead of dealing with the no shows and terrible communication. I've even tried offering things free to a good home but still same issue with fish sitting in a bucket and interested party being a no show even after confirming pickup time. Sadly people are very selfish these days an don't even have the courtesy to notify you :(.

2 of them were from here and others are Craigslist.
I would like to give my stuff to my lfs but they well give my $15 for my blenny, Pygmy angel, and skunk cleaner shrimp

Same with mine. They won't really pay at all. I've given them about $400 in fish and creatures now for free. That's how frustrating trying to rehome a fish is on here. Lol.

And the most annoying is the constant trade offers even when you say no trades! Ugh.

So far I’ve sold 3 things but still get a lot of no replies and then I get people like this. Very frustrating but I’m also the better person in these situations. Just ranting

I feel your frustration on the no shows... i just went through something similar. A friend of a friend has a 120 that he was unsuccessful with. His wife felt bad for the yellow and sailfin tangs that were stuck in a brown, neglected tank and wanted to rehome them. We set a time for tuesday. I pulled out an old 40b and got to cleaning, scraping up equipment and making saltwater. Tuesday didnt work, so we reschedule to Friday. But Friday comes and hes to busy with his video games to be bothered with catching fish, so now i have an empty tank running in my basement. Grrrrrr.... o well, guess i have my water made for this weekends water change.
Anyways, rant over.
Sorry to see ya taking a break from the hobby, but sometimes life happens. Glad to hear you plan on sticking around while you're on break.
