Hi, I'm thinking about buying an apex controller but im curious about probe functionality. When shipped, do they need to be soaked in saltwater/rodi water? If so, how would one do so?

Is it new. They will come with end caps that have saltwater in them and you pull them off. If it's used it is my understanding to just buy new PH and Salinity probes because they don't last forever.

They are 2 months old from a third party

If they didn't throw away the caps that came with it, just reuse those. Neptune recommends keeping them for that very reason. Otherwise I don't know how to do it. i think they are ruined if they dry out. maybe ask if anyone has theirs sitting around. I can mail you mine but the USPS is awful slow right now.

Gotcha. Reason I ask is because the seller says he can't sell the probes soaked which I did not understand since I thought they had some sort of caps as you mentioned. Im waiting for a response to see if they currentlyhave those caps with water. I think he misunderstood what I meant by soaked.
