Should I go with a 6 or 8 bulb 60" fixture and which should I get? The Sunpower or Powermodule? Tank is an Oceanic 215. 72x24x30
I woud like to order buy the end of the weekend. I'm trying to keep mostly SPS.

I would go with the 8 bulb fixture my tank is 24" deep meaning front to back and it is just enough, the truth,I would go with metal halides on that 24" high tank.My tank is only 20" high and it gets ok light penetration but I think anything over 20" high needs metal halides.3x250w w/ some nice reflectors would be great on that tank.

I have two 60" powermodules on my 18" deep and they hang 16" above the water and I pull plenty of par on the bottom.

Ok so are you telling him he could go with a ATI fixture?Im sure you are pulling a lot of par with 2 Powermodules and only 18" tall.

What I'm saying is depending on where it hangs I think it would be fine. I would get the 8 bulb for that tank though. I also have two because my tank is 40" wide.

Oh you have a 40" wide tank now I can picture 2 Powermodules:bigsmile:

Anyone else have any imput. I'm thinking of going with the 8 bulb fixture. Just don't know if I should go with the Sunpower or Powermodule.

i saw power module, 8 bulb...it gives you the liberty of messing around with combos and getting the right look. i kinda regret going with 4 bulb over my 30 breeder, and altho i got it as a cheap used fixture, i just can't seem to find a bulb combo i like. when i see my friends' 6 and 8-bulb combos, the color is absolutely perfect because they can add more blue or white or purple as they please. plus, if you think 8 bulbs is too much for the tank, depending on where you hang it, you can always just keep 6 bulbs on (if im not wrong)

The Sunpower doesn't come in an 8 bulb version.....

The more the better. I have a 12 bulb fixture over my 31" deep tank. It gives me plenty of color options on bulbs and I am able to grow SPS anywhere I want in the tank. I would go with the 8 bulb PM for sure.
