If I have two fish shipped overnight from Divers Den and I set up the QT to match the salinity of the bag water, I just need to float the bag for temp, and I can just release to fish in the QT without drip acclimation, correct? At that point the salinity and temp would be the same.

Also, DD says the salinity will be 1.025. Is DD accurate on this in your experiences?

Always test the bag! I use a pin to poke a little hole below the water level (to not allow oxygen to get in and start converting the ammonia to the toxic kind) take a couple drops of water to test, then put a piece of tape over it and float while I adjust as needed.

Yep, once you temp and salinity match just toss them in!

I was once told (by a different vendor) that my bag salinity would be between 1.018-1.020 and it came in at 1.009! So I was definitely happy I checked.

i emailed liveaquaria asking about salinity and the answer I got was not correct

that said, DD came in pretty high. .024 or .025 I think, but don't quote me.. it was 6 months ago

They just told me 1.025

This is good practice and I agree it should be done, but:

DD is pretty darn consistent at 1.025. Note that I am speaking in regards to DD only; LA will be different.
i believe they told me DD would come in at .023, but it came in at .024, so that was pretty close. The LA fish I ordered however they told me it'd come in at .021 and it came in at .018 IIRC.
DD is certainly checked more closely and should be more consistent. LA is a completely different wholesale factility and by that nature, it's bound to be more variable. I've found it tends to be around 1.019-1.020 for fish; inverts will be at full salt (1.025).
