Quick inkbird question

I forgot if I can keep the probes next to the heater for an inkbird controller on my BRS heater. I feel like I heard I can’t somewhere, and I don’t feel like sticking my hand in the tank right now…. Literally just showered.

The area near the heater will get warmer quicker than the rest of the tank and if the probe is to close it will signal the inkbird to shut off the heater before it has heated the whole tank to the desired temperature

I place the Inkbird probes downstream from my heaters.

I place my probe upstream. That way the heaters warm water goes through the tank and back to the sump then hits the sensor.

Just because I’m curious, how long could one of these titanium heaters last out of water before it’s a big problem?

Depends on the wattage. A 50w could go a while I would think as there isn’t much heat to dissipate.

About 1min before it melts the suction cups and falls off (don't ask how I know...).
