We're still waiting on our 40 breeder to finish cycling. It feels like it's been like 3 months haha but I know patience is important in this hobby. But it's slightly possible that we could start thinking about moving our corals over soon and we wanted to make sure our light settings and schedule were ok. We have mostly zoas, a leather, and a few lps at the moment, but would like to expand into sps and more lps in the future. We do plan on acclimating them to the lighting for about three weeks. We have 2 AI Prime HD lights.

I have the hydra's but this will work for the primes

Fwiw, with 2 ai primes on a 40b you might have to plan the sps around light placement. Below each light 12”x12”x depth(this will depend on light height and intensity) of par suitable for high light corals.
Make sure these areas are saved for the corals that will need that light. With the lps and softies further to the sides and bottom.

This is great, thanks! We got the original numbers from a BRStv video but weren't sure if they were still proper values to use, plus I'm sure it varies by situation. Thanks again, we'll make some adjustments :)

Thank you for that. We have a Seneye on the way, do you have a recommendation of a source of suggested par levels?

I’ve been steering people towards Tidal Gardens. I think they give the best write up on what each coral needs as far as par and flow and stuff.

Note: I have mine 12" off the water, and found that my corals reacted better and I also have a better spread of light.
