Im currently cycling my tank right now(40g) with about 15-20lbs of Fiji live rock. If I plan on buying more of the same live rock that has been cured at my LFS, do I need to cycle it in my tank? Or will it be fine to add more later on when there are already fish and inverts in the tank.
Thank you

While it may be ok to add directly to the tank, I would put the new rock in a separate tank or a bucket or something and keep an eye on things or a few weeks first. A 5gal bucket would work and just test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate :)
You can never be too safe in this hobby!

A lot of lfs claim to have cured live rock I would say the majority of them do not

+1

LFS doesn't care about you or your fish. Or even their own fish for that matter. They will lie to you until they are blue in the face to get you to buy something. They will sell you False Perculas and Claim they are True Perculas. They will sell you Tangs for a 20g tank, etc just to make a few bucks. I've been going to LFS for a year now and not a single thing they have told me has been beneficial or truthful. If they say it's cured, it probably has just been received and placed in their tank a few days ago.

Ask your LFS how long the Live Rock has been in their tub, that will give you an idea wether its cured or not.
