Got a new glass tank (150G) and stand that is ready to set up. I am getting mixed opinions on whether or not to put styrofoam between the tank and stand. Opinions? Thanks.

Not sure but my last tank came with a piece cut out for this purpose. My new tank did not. Just wondering what the norm is here. Thanks.

It is supposed to help the tank sit flat on the stand. I don't have it under my display, but I did use it under my 30 and 50 gallon tanks in the basement.

Tanks that do not have the built in braces like an AGA or Oceanic do not need the foam. Tanks like the ones made by glasscages that do not have the braces on the bottom are supposed to have the foam. This is how it was explained to me. :)

sorry. Tanks that do have the braces(AGA, Oceanic, Perfecto) don't need foam. The bottom glass does not touch the stand.
If the glass sits directly on the stand the foam should be used. :)
Sorry about the prior mix up sometimes my brain works faster than I can type.
