is keeping my alk between 7.0dkh and 8.0 dkh classed a stable or do I have to try and keep it at say 7.7 dkh at all times
Thanks :)

7.75 actually. J/k. Depends what you're keeping some coral less forgiving than others. Big swings generally frowned upon. Make changes slow right?

It all depends how you run your system (Level of nutrients) and what kind of corals you have.
If you want to play on the save side keep it between 7.8 and 8.5.

My tank is a Red Sea reefer 350
Iv over 90 corals now mostly frags but some are a good size now ,about 10 sps and the rest lps
Iv a reactor with np pellets in the sump, cheato and some carbon
I do a 20%to 30% water change once a week maybe a week and a hafe sometimes
Iv very low nutes
I'm gonna test my alk today see were I'm at that try and get to above 8.0 in the next few days and than not let it drop below 7.8
Thanks for your help lovemycj and diesel

IMO, it depends on what you keep and what the nutrient levels are.

Most folks with most systems think a range of 0.4 dKH or less is plenty stable. For a higher nutrient system (that is, not ULNS) much more change may be fine.
