Quick question about refugiums and gfo/ phosphate rx

Have an algea problem taking some good steps, I have a refugium and one of my steps to get rid of it is addictive g gfo to my carbon reactor and I bought phosphate rx.

My main question is will the removal of phosphates mess with my refugium or will the refurgium just feed off of nitrates.

How long has your refugium been running? Personally I’d stay away from using GFO until you’ve given some time on the refugium.

Running GFO to reduce phosphate and or a carbon source to remove nitrates does take food away from the algae in your refugium. What are your levels of nutrients currently?
