Quick question. Can 2 different monti caps touch?

I'm just now experimenting with sps for the first time. Only been reefing for 2 years. May sound like a while but I'm still new. Learning how to dose and maintain alk levels right now. I have some acros. They dont die but dont grow to much either. 2 birds nests, ones growing the other has stayed the same since I got it. Then I have 2 monti digitatas. Ones growing the other is brand new. Then 3 monti caps. They seem to like my tank and grow quite a bit.

No matter how long you've been reefing you will always be learning man. For me that always keeps my attention, so many great things involved around this hobby. You'll find variances in growth and color with SPS in areas of the tank just inches apart, it is crazy.

The thing I'm finding crazy right now is the variteys in Duncan's. Most of ones I see are the polar opposite to what I have, small heads and small skirts where my heads are massive and have long skirts that sway all around the current.

One will either grow over the other or they will grow around each other in a swirling pattern. Grafting together is extremely rare.

That is super freaking cool! I am so bumbed right now! I did an auction last night and I got a season greeting that is thin and looks like a monticap. Do you know if they are? I will post a pic of what I won pretty cheap.

I paid quite a bit for a grafted orange, green with just a tiny bit of green.. post pic

They had solid purple that went off for 7 bucks but I didnt want purple thinking it would barely show against purple rock! After seeing what you have done I am sick I didnt get it!

Do you know what happens when a grated monti grow's out with just a tiny bit of green? Will the pieces that grow continue to have green and same pattern in it or just the tiny frag will?

I appreciate any help! I am now thinking I screwed up with the seasons greetings! Its so thin I thought it was a monticap but just rechecked the auction and others are listed as caps but seasons inst!

Hopefully he will let me exchange for purple and I know someone that I am picking corals up from and has some cheap red ones so maybe I will mix the red and purple and If the grafted isnt going to grow out grated looking I will mix that to or put in my nano tank by itself if it grows out grafted!
