Quick question...new live rock into a 2 decade old plus system or bare rock?

My scape needs to improve, based on many of your images here seen...not a great deal but we can amp it up a bit certainly. Forgive me for this ignorant question but, I just want to better the scape and not sure which would be the better avenue. Time nor looks immediately is not really a factor. What am I dealing with in terms of new stuff introduced as far as balance? Just painted back of tank and said, yes, like it but.....rock HERE, HERE, AND OVER HERE.....thanks much.

Eh, I'd probably go bare unless your 20 yr reef needs more biodiversity. In your case, you are probably fine in that area, so live rock might just bring in undesirable hitchhikers you need to deal with. If you dont mind that process, then you cant go wrong with live.

Ya, I've seen a few of em over the years for certain. Aptasia , the wee little white stars the latest last few years. I don't mind the headache, just don't want to upset the system balance....
