Quick Question on a certain material causing issues in tank

Hello Randy,
I'm having some issues in my tank with coral. I made a thread in another section of the forum, so if you need any details you can check out my thread.

I have one question for you on the possible cause of my issues. I purchased BRS DIY screen tops for my tank. While modding the screen to fit my auto feeder onto the tank I believe I lost a little bit of spline in the tank. The spline is what holds the screen mesh into the frame of the top. I wanted to ask if a small amount of spline being lost in the tank may be causing me issues with my coral. I figured you might know if this material is toxic to the coral or not.

A plastic or rubber spline seems unlikely to be a substantial problem. A very old fashioned metal spline could be a problem.

Is it aluminum? If it is id be worried.

No, I believe its not a metal type material. It was soft and squishy to touch.

I wouldnt think this is a problem if its made of rubber or plastic.

Have you tested all your parameters? When was the last time you did a water change?
