OK here is my question. I am considering buying some dry rock from a private seller on a social media site. Price is super cheap but I am wandering is it pest free because its dry ?? Or could I be buying someone else's heartache's. I will be placing them in a new tank so no existing fish or other aquatic life is at risk. Is there a suggested cleaning, or anything I need to do to it before putting it in my tank. Or should I steer clear of it all together ?

As always Thanks in Advance.

If the price is right, and the shapes, style, type of rock you are looking for, I say go for it.
As for cleaning the rock, there are several methods to accomplish that. All easily found here with a simple search.
As for buying someone else's headaches, that is a possibility, but with the cleaning, those problems should be negligible.

Definitely agree with ndr, mostly because i've done it myself with success, but also because he is a ducks fan :P

I say go for it but definitely clean and cure it before use

Sounds good Guy is asking a dollar a pound so I will give it a shot !!

Did it come out of a fish tank? Some folks put copper in their fish tanks. I would ask first, and then decide.
