Hello All,
Trying to rename ports on our RKL. The last time I did this was about 6 years ago. Do you need to hook up all the devices to the computer? (SL1, Temp probe) I hooked up the head unit and PC4 and did not work.

Thanks
Mike

The system has to be up and running to rename in myReef. The module with the port you want to rename has to be connected also.

n2585722 Thank You!

So while system running, use an empty port and connect to computer?

Yes, if you have to you can disconnect the iTemp probe long enough to do this if it is not the one you are renaming. Just make sure it is though the SID.

Thank You, Will give it a try

The RKL is limited to 4 modules in the system. Are you trying to add more than 4 modules? Also t will remember a module once hooked to the system even if it is removed from the system. There is a way to remove the module from the system on the RKL but I am not familiar with how since I had the RKE. Most of the programming is the same with some exceptions. I now use the Archon instead which is also similar since it uses some of the same modules.

I made the mistake of updating the system, (2) PC4 SL1, and a Head unit. When I hooked it back up
It only showed Module Limit and kind of locked out.

How did you update the modules? Did you do them one at a time with only that module hooked to the SID? If so try doing a reset to factory defaults on the head unit. If not the you need to do an Interupted update on each module to make sure they are updated with the correct module firmware. If you have more than one module hooked to SID when updating the module can be updated with the same firmware and also the same serial number.

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a try.

was able to do a factory reset on the head unit and the "Module Limit" went away and was able to get system running and was also able to rename ports.
Thanks again for all your help
Mike
