I just need to know how long before adding my 3rd fish, i have a 55 gallon tank, with 55 lbs of rock and 2 inchs of sand, tank has been running for 2 months, i just added 2 small blue reef chromis this past friday (there doing great) and reason i ask this today, my trusted lfs is having a sale on all livestock and i wanted to pay upfront for a royal gramma today, but i wouldn't be picking him up or adding him to my tank till at least next friday, so that would be a week and half. is that enough time? I also have 4 Nass nails and 2 peppermint shrimp

Only way to know is to test. If your tank has cycled and you're not getting any ammonia spikes then it's likely ok to add another fish. I would QT the new fish so that will give you a little more time as well.

I do test ammonia daily, and so far since having the chromis, ammonia still sits at 0 and thanks.

I think you'll be ok then. Good luck. :)

As far as QT new fish, i don't do it, i simply for example when i put a new order in from my trusted lfs, i pay for them upfront and see how there doing in a week, if there looking healthy and eating eat time food is offered then i know its ok to just take them home and drip acclimate them and add them to my tank. I know its not the idea method and i know a QT is recommend by most reefers, its just something i cant do in my situation, that's why i wait at least a week before taking the fish home
