quick question I'm trying to get a answer to before spending money. If one end of this return nozzle is right at the surface of the water at all times and the other end is lower into the tank once air goes into the end at the water line will this break siphon completely even though one end is still under water?

Hello and yes...that is how I have my 90g setup and the syphon breaks as soon as the water line drops below the side that I have angled up.

Sweet thanks. Do you think I should still get a wye check valve or that's just a waste of money since this method is tested to work

I don't use one...they take away a lot of the head height of your return pump and I've been happy with this method of preventing too much back syphon

Word that's what made me think of this loc-line idea cool thanks Oh how long have you used this method for

I had this on my Biocube 29 for 5 months and then when I switched over to my 90, I've had it this way for 4 months now

My return pump is shut off 1 time every day...and every day the syphon breaks fine
