What is the advantage of having the sump light ON while the DT is off? I see a lot of reefers do that.Quick answer , as long as the display lights are off.
If the nutrients drop too much , then reduce the time.
It sablizes the ph. Corals in photo synthesis take in co2 whole the lights are on (increasing ph) , when the fuge Light is on the macros then take over the job of reducing the co2.What is the advantage of having the sump light ON while the DT is off? I see a lot of reefers do that.

Co2 btw is produced by all the organisims including the bacteria.
Ideally, your sump should be on whenever your display tank lights are off. In you case, turn the sump on a 11PM and off at 1PM.Oh wow, I have my DT light on from 1pm to 11pm then when I get home around 6pm I turn on the sump light. So I should turn on the sump at 11pm to 5:30am when I wake up?

Agreed , yes. But not really a super big deal.Oh wow, I have my DT light on from 1pm to 11pm then when I get home around 6pm I turn on the sump light. So I should turn on the sump at 11pm to 5:30am when I wake up?
Great. I will follow that from today. Thanks a lot.Ideally, your sump should be on whenever your display tank lights are off. In you case, turn the sump on a 11PM and off at 1PM.
All photosynthetic organisms run into what’s called photo saturation. So they stop.I’m running my refuge light 24/7.......No Good?????
oh ok, I'm learning something new everyday on this side of the hobby. ThanksAgreed , yes. But not really a super big deal.
Your welcome !oh ok, I'm learning something new everyday on this side of the hobby. Thanks
Ever since the expensive Eschopps refuge light was replaced with a basic Grow-light, led, with a dome, my refuge has been alive with all kinds of life. No algae in my DTAll photosynthetic organisms run into what’s called photo saturation. So they stop.
Many love 24/7. For me , experimenting , the opposite was just better. Better growth in fuge etc.

What schedule are you on?Here is the problem I get algae choking chaeto and killing it.
