I am noticing my tank is only consuming alkalinity approx. a swing of .2 per day. Which I been dosing AF component 2 19.2 Ml per day (.8ml 24 times a day).

I been measuring my Calcium throughout the process both with a Hanna Checker, Red Sea and Salifert and my calcium seems to be staying around 440 to 435.

My Mag is between 1225 and 1250.

I am doing a AWC change daily also.

My Question is do I dose the components 1 and 3 also even thou my parameters on the other two seem to be ok? (I am currently using AF Reef Salt)

The tank is approx. 8 months old, primary Zoa’s in it now.

Just not sure if I should be dosing the other two or if I should.

Hi,
This is not 2 part, all liquids need to be dosed equally to balance. This might seem like it will drive CA and MG, but there are trace and reef mineral salt that all needs to be in equal parts. You can lower all 3 liquids and side dose alk until balance is achieved, or make your own and use less CA and MG powders. You should find balance among all 3 in a few months or so. Best of luck, they will balance, just requires a bit of patience to get there. Cheers :)

Auto water change daily with component dosing is a interesting topic. I think @jsker can answer it

I started with my auto water change using Aquaforest reef salt, and 1+2+3+ and I am not having great success.

I took a bit to get here, but I started with the auto water change in May of this year. ;)
One thing I have discovered is that my 1+2+3+ are not balance but they are getting very close. For a 80 water volume I am dosing right now with mixing my own
20 ml of 1+
24 ml of 2+
20 ml of 3+
These are dosed 8 times a day and the consumption will go up as my corals fill back in and grow. I only started to mix the Mg in to component 3+ but dose the mineral salts and component strong K before my system started to consume Mg again.

I would suggest just mixing the components strong in 1+ minus the Ca and 3+ minus the Mg in small batches till you system adjust and starts consuming the Ca and Mg.

And you do not think the AWC is replacing those trace elements anyways? Or did you stop the awc once you doses the custom strong batches?

And thank you everyone for replying!!
