My Apex EB832 power cord length it a little too short to reach my cabinet. I was wondering if I can connect it to an extension cord that can handle 13 amps and 120 Volts. Would that possibly lead to a circuit break or a fire? Or maybe I should just leave it behind the cabinet. I'm a little finicky with extension cords. Thank you.

I do now but for my safety, I use an appliance extension xmcord. I had that one for a past air conditioner
