Hey I'm so new to this lol, anyway. I'm looking for a macro algae that the fish would love to eat. I got some Dragon's Breath but I heard the fish avoid it. Which I'm not complaining it's a gorgeous algae. But I want an algae that the fish would love to nibble on, but is also a fast grower. I like the Ogo, I think that's right. I was thinking red or blue Ogo.

I would love some advice.

Red ogo (Gracilaria parvispora) and sea lettuce (Ulva sp.) are both common in the trade and nutritious for herbivores. UIva should grow faster than Gracilaria under the right conditions. What fish do you have and do you have a refugium?
I haven't heard of blue ogo, but I assume you are referring to Hypnea or Ochtodes, which are decorative algae.

Caulerpa and gracilaria are my go to for feeding tangs. I believe it helps coloration. My tangs didn't touch my dragons breath until I ripped a chunk off for them. Once they got a taste it was game over.

I use gracilaria parvispora and caulerpa lentillifera. Ulva lactuca is great all around for feeding. Plentiful and easy. Can get a little tough but never a problem for tangs.

So far just the Dragon's Breath. No fish yet.

I've been wanting red gracilaria

I keep a few different varieties because they are all just so versatile. I keep this one on each of my powerheads. Trim it when it starts slowing down the flow.

My ogo and parvispora are for feeding mostly. Hayi is for the display and can be a hit or miss with herbivores. Tikvahiae is awesome but a quick snack like ogo.
