Quick questions about heater!

I usually like going bigger and put on a controller so you have a safety. I would even go 200w for that system. 150w would probably work as well; dependent on your average ambient temperatures.

Well then, easy peasy! Just hook it up to that bad boy.

The highest watt in the heater in stock was 100w ... so I ordered it so I had something for now when I cycle ... thanks! I'll purchase another 100w if it's not enough... which I think won't be since the water will be at 73-74 and I need it at 78 so 1 won't do the job eh?

I always recommend two heaters....and slightly undersized. The reason is that when one goes bad, and it will, the other will try to keep up, but still not allow your tank to get dangerously cold. Also, when you see your temp dip, you'll know you have a bad heater. I'd recommend ordering two more....one to go into the tank with the other one, and the second as a backup, ready to go.

Also, very important, run them through your controller.

Yep! It's a scientific fact that they always go at the most inconvenient time.
