quick replacement for powerhead cover?

I just got a small anemone that I'm afraid could get swallowed up by the powerhead I have, I don't have a sponge or anything to cover it up. Any alternative methods I can attempt to cover the powerhead up?

As odd as it sounds, have you tried hosiery? As in a stocking? Until you can get a prefilter sponge?
