I everybody, so I have a 29g tank and am struggling with nutrients right now. I currently have a skimmer rated for 30 gallons. My question is if I upgrade my skimmer to one rated for 65 gallons. Will it take out nutrients faster than the one rated for 30g, Or will it just take longer for the collection cup to fill? Thanks!

Assuming that they both are the same efficiency, then it will take out more. However, not all skimmers perform the same.

Most of the time, a skimmer rated for X is usually about half of that, so your 30g skimmer could be rated for a 15g tank. Hard to know without the brand and type, but this is true of most brands.

The type of skimmer I was looking to purchase is called a SC Aquariums SC-301. I appreciate the help!

Nitrates are reading 40-80 ppm
My ricordeas look fine but my one birdsnest frag is looking slightly agitated while the other is almost completely closed. Here are some pics, the second one has had dead spots since I bought it. I’ve only had them for two weeks

Here’s a full tank shot because why not. I’m not having any algae issues despite my test kit reading so high so I guess it’s possible that it might be misreading.
