Hey guys, I'm looking for a quiet but efficient skimmer for a 75g tank (100g total volume) and maybe also a quiet submersible pump. any ideas/suggestions?
I'm looking to make my tank as quiet as possible, all the noise I have now come from these 2 pieces of equipment.
Also any suggestions on quiet replacement fans for my LED fixture? my current fans are not very loud but it is noticeable when they come on from a few feet away.

Dc pumps are the way to go for sound.
May want to research them.
Same for a skimmer :)
Now for the lighting if you are good with DIY you can replace the fans with a smaller Db rating with the same cfm or more.

The ATB Nano One is super quiet and would work with your tank:

I love to do DIY :)
I just don't trust online descriptions too much, sometimes they say quiet and when they arrive they loud as hell. Its expensive to return items when they arrive in Trinidad lol.... any suggestions on a quiet fan from experience?

will definitely check it out. thanks

does anyone have any experience with the Jebao or waveline DC pumps?
also was looking at the Sicce pumps, they claim to be silent, any Sicce pump owners want to chime in on this?

I have the Jebao dct4000 as my return. I don't hear it at all. And I really like the feed button and that it ramps back up slowly. Actually I don't hear any of the pumps in my tank. The loudest thing in my tank is the water running from the overflow down into the sump.

holy cow... those red dragons are out of my price range lol... they are very nice pumps though.

how long have you had this pump? I'm really considering one of those exact models once they are reliable. do you have it hard plumbed or soft tubing?
what skimmer are you using?

I've only had it a few weeks, maybe a month. And I have some of that black sponge stuff under it. Mainly because when I took the old pump off and put this one on it wasn't quite as big so there was space under it. But I read that a lot of people put that sponge stuff under their pumps to quiet vibrations. The plumbing is soft tubing.

The skimmer I believe is an asm protein skimmer. I bought the tank used on Craigslist and that's what came with it. The Jebao return pump I added new.

Can't speak to the Jebao, but I have both a Waveline DC12000 and Sicce 5.0. The Waveline is used submerged and it's near silent. The Sicce is used externally and the pump itself is near silent. I do have a very minor, and I mean minor, vibration but I know it's in my plumbing, not the pump. I never tell anyone something if totally silent, because in my opinion, everything has some sound to it, hence the term "near silent". My system is a room divider so sound is critical to us, and both the above pumps meet that requirement. My skimmer on the other hand...
