Quiet Reactor pump???

Hey guys I have a BRS dual reactor with the Maxijet 1200 pump as recommended. This pump creates the most noise and hum in my system everything else is pretty quiet. Is there another pump that I can use on this that won't be overkill in terms of flow but will be quieter than this maxijet?

I tapped mine off my return pump with a tee and jg fitting. Less heat with one less pump.

Thats not a bad idea, do you have a pic of how thats setup? I am just wondering what fittings and sizes i need, the hose from the return pump to the tank is 1" but i know the brs hose is MUCH smaller. So you just adjust the valve on the reactor to optimize flow through the reactor. Do you still get a decent amount of adjustment since the return pump is obviously going to be stronger than the maxijet?

Yes, just used the valve that came with the reactor.
Yes the return pump is stronger, but the majority of the flow goes back in the tank return.

Awesome thanks. I think i will definitely end up doing this cause my return pump is actually a bit big for the overflow on my tank at the moment so having it run the reactor as well will help distribute the flow.

You probably just have a bad Maxi-jet. They run pretty much silent on the reactors.

I have another maxijet that was on my CPR BakPak skimmer it was noisy too.

Ok, here is the pic.
My return is 3/4", not 1".

U would need a 1"barbed x 1"barbed x 1/2" threaded tee.
And a 1/2 john guest quick connect.

Make sure the return goes in and out straight, and the reactor taps off the side..
