Starting my first saltwater this weekend. Will be picking up a 57g rimless with 20g sump. I'm looking for some recommendations on return pumps within about $150ish. It's going to be setup in my bedroom so I'm looking for the quietest possible setup! Thanks

I've used Sicce pumps in the past and really liked them. A lot of people speak highly of the Eheim pumps. If you want to go with a DC pump in that price range I don't think you can beat the Jebao lineup!

Yeah from what I've been reading the Sicce Syncra 2.0 and Jebao DC-3000 are highly regarded options. Think those sizes will work with my setup? Roughly around 550gph?

Look at the pump specs; GPH ratings will vary based on the height the return pump needs to move water to the top of the tank. So a pump that is rated at 500 GPH at 36 inches may be 425 GPH at 48 inches.

Been using this pump in one of my tanks for 10 years. Only changed the impeller once during that time.

I ran the VarioS-6 on my Reefer 250 - 60-65ish gallons for a year or so. Had no issues with the pump and it was silent! Personally I went with the 6 so I could run a manifold.

Varios 2. $159 and dead silent. I have the varios 6 and can’t hear it at all.
So far can only find it for about $195 but I'll keep looking! Thanks for the heads up, pretty much between the Sicce/Varios. Looks like Reef Octo is one of the most highly regarded brands around!

You are right, my brain went dyslexic, it’s 195$
Just making sure I wasn't missing a good deal somewhere haha! Okay I might try and find a used skimmer to make up for the $50 extra for the Varios. Sounds like either the Sicce or the Varios would be pretty quiet though. Thanks guys!

QuietOne 2200...should be around $50...3 year warranty...dead silent.

Quiet One is Sicce's Syncra Pro line, BTW, just made in China with a price that fits.

Same Sicce design, which Sicce and Lifeguard both claim as their most quiet.

You can still get the Italian versions under the Syncra Pro brand, and should still fit your budget.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Went with the varios, Joe at Joeknowsreefs hooked it up! So glad to have a fantastic LFS :)
