Quietest GYRE pumps?

A few days ago I picked up a Maxspect 200 series GYRE on sale at the LFS. That was a huge mistake. I hear every step the motor takes when increasing and decreasing velocity... it has made looking at my tank an unenjoyable thing. I called and am able to return it.... but what should I look for instead? I have a 40 gallon cube and need good flow for my SPS corals. I like the laminar flow a GYRE type pump gives.... but am open to other suggestions since my last JAEBO gyre Amazon special froze up after just a month and a half. I want to make a good purchase and ideally a variable speed/ wave type pump that won't be so difficult to maintain. Thanks in advance!

I can tell you the IceCap 2k and 4k are NOT quiet. I can here them squealing every time I walk by the reef.
