whats the quietest return pump out there, around 300-700gph?

just curious, my mag 5 keeps developing an annoying loud "hummm"

i guess i'm gonna have to try and ehein then ;)

thanks for the suggestions....now, i notice that the eheims have a barbed fitting for a flex tube....how do i work this?

right now, i have a threaded PVC end that screws onto my mag....that means i'll have to cut my PVC and put a barb on the end of it, then put a piece of flex tubing to attach to the barb on the pump...

....thats gonna be hard to work since my piping is literally held up by my mag pump

...any ideas?

Could get some of that pipe strap or any wire around the house and rig it up to support the pipes while you swap it out.

I always get nervous working with pipes that are connected to bulksheads. Always paranoid I'm going to bend it and shatter the glass.

yep!!! which is why on my new cube tank, i WILL have the pipes lashed to the inside of the stand, so i can make sure the weight of the pipes isnt resting on the pump or any bulkheads. :)

I had an Eheim pump run for a decade without me ever touching it and If I had "touched" it a time or two it'd probably still be ruining
