Ok so the only thing keeping my sump from being quiet at this point is the sound of the water falling from the filter floss to the water below it. Does anyone have any suggestions to reduce or eliminate the splashing sound?

Raise the water level so the drop is not so big. You might need to elevate your skimmer on a stand. I find if any water drop is more than an inch I don’t like the noise. You can see I run mine with the adjustable weir raised all the way up and then the return chamber filled higher so the last drop is also small.
