Hey all! I'm just wondering if there is a way to quiet a traditional overflow. I'm on the fence about the price of my reefsavvy tank. I was planning on plumbing for a beananimal system with reefsavvy. But curious if I went with a traditional overflow on a cheaper tank if there is a way to keep it fairly quiet and keep it from flushing. Thanks!

Yes, if you set-up the drains correctly, it will be quiet with a Herbie or BA. Also that's assuming the return pump isn't overpowering whatever weir or overflow box is used.

Sorry, are you saying that the traditional overflow can be as quiet as a ba or herbie?

Yes, if you set it up with a herbie or BA. Any overflow with 2 holes can run a herbie. Any overflow with 3 holes can run a BA. The overflow box is one thing, how you set up the drain system is another.
