Quoted Tank Size?

Hi Team,

I'm currently in the middle of cycling my first tank and while researching various things I realised I was unsure of something... When somebody quotes their tank size, are they talking about their display tank? Or their total water volume i.e. tank + sump?

Mostly it’s the size of the DT

Size of the tank is tank volume only. Size of the system is the volume totality of all. So refer to system volume vs tank volume.

I refer to my system volume but mine is an All-in-one system with no sump. I actually have no idea what my Display area actually is . Now I have to look it up.

I will say my DT and sump size when I talk about it. I have a 75 gallon DT and 20 gallon long sump about 3/4-ish full. So about 90 gallons not accounting for live rock and sand displacement.
