What does everybody think the minimum tank size for a quoyi parrotfish is? Looking to get one. Don’t need the “none bc tanks are smaller than the ocean” responses. Thanks

lol, I'd be hard pressed if anyone in this forum is all "save the fish!!111". I eat fish and scallops regularly so there's that for the skeptics.

Anyway, for the Scarus Quoyi, I'd say at least a 180 if not 200 minimum. Some sites say 1000 liter min, which is over 250g.

If you're being conservative with how large, I'd say the 180 is typical at 6 feet long.

I’ve got a custom 6ft 190g so that’s great. Thanks for the help. Btw fish and scallops are the best to eat lol

There are a bunch of threads here on the Quoyi - search is your friend. Not an easy fish to keep though. Don't ship or acclimate well. And often require major coaxing to eat. 6' tank is fine, though if you keep one long term it will likely outgrow a 180.

It should also be noted that they're not always acrylic-safe.

They often seem to get started eating with 1mm pellets, but ca1ore's got a point - they don't always get started. I had one who hid in PVC fittings in my QT for over a month, eating nothing, before floating to the surface.

If you can get them healthy and eating eagerly, they're as charming as a fish can be.
