QUOYI PARROTFISH

are they hard to keep alive in aquarium?
Carl,

Overall, parrotfish are easy to keep for the short term, but if you take a deep dive into their longevity records, it turns out that very few actually live more than two years in captivity. Personally, I've stopped acquiring parrotfish, I always get them through quarantine o.k. then onto display, but they tend to die from a variety of issues before two years is up. I had one adult bicolor parrot that lived for 5+ years, and I had one midnight parrot that lived for 3 years. I'm not positive, but I think the Omaha Zoo has a quoyi in one of their reef systems that is doing well and not eating corals.

Thank you for the input

We just added a very curious and playful Quoy to our reef tank, and so far he seems to be getting along great with everyone. Fingers crossed...
Do you have pictures? They’re such beautiful fish
