R&J Enterprises basic canopy

Hi,
I have a R&J Enterprises basic canopy, and wondering if anyone else has one? What the problem is these things don't stay up own their own unless you lean against the wall. Wondering if anyone has installed a gas type hinge used on toy chests to hold them up, or other solutions?
