I got this r/o system used off a friend that it was working properly I just don’t know how to connect it , can anyone tell me if the red line is my drain line ? It seems that when I hook water up to the white 1/4 inch line going to the first sediment filter it will constantly pour and will not **** off on its own? I’m not sure if I have lines mixed up? I think I have it correct if 1 is water intake 2 is drain and 3 is my good r/o water for tank? If so does anyone know why it would be constantly draining and filling r/o? Maybe my auto shut off valve is broken? Or needing a new check valve somewhere ?

Hard to tell from the photos really - but usually the red colored line is waste water (usually). Hard to tell where #3 is coming from as it emerges from behind the stage canisters. On most RODI units I've seen that work from left to right, #2 would be coming out of the last resin stage, and would be your product water - at least that is how my unit is set up.

Forgive me as I can’t see the picture….vision issue not your pic. As stated above the line coming out of the last stage (carbon block or di) will be your clean ro or rodi water. Does it have a manual or electronic flush valve? It’s possible that it’s open. The auto shut off will not stop until the unit builds enough pressure against a closed valve. Meaning you have to close off your clean ro/rodi line somehow. Don’t know if that helps.

It's really hard to tell from your pics. Can your friend help you set it back up?
Are you asking about the basic setup and wondering if the tubing is connected properly? Or is this simply a question about a float valve? Most basic setups don't include anything that shuts the water off... I turn on my faucet to start and turn it off to stop.
Sorry if I'm not understanding your question...

I will try butting a valve on to let the r/o build up enough back pressure to shut off
