R/O tds meter question

Recently installed an R/o in my house and have started having algae out break. It was a used r/o system. Is there a way to double check the tds meter to make sure it's truly running 0 tds?

If it’s an in-line one that that’s not easy. Can be done but the below is easier.

if not either buy a 2nd unit or a calibration solution to check against.
