found a 250 water storage tank to hold water for my 250 gallon tank, seller states that the tank had mild soap in it prior but has been rinsed, the price is good but I'm not sure if it is safe for R/O water, any advice?

Personally I would scrub it with vinegar very well and let it dry in the sun. Use s good scrubber pad to remove any and all traces of soap. Fill with the hose and watch closely for sudsy bubbles soap makes.

Lots of rinsing for sure. Is the seller the first owner of this water storage tank?

Yeah. He's the only owner. The only problem with scrubbing is that it is large and square with only an 8-10 inch opening on the top

That does make it difficult.

Warmer water will work somewhat better than cold.

Two thoughts: 1) get a few people to help you lift the bin and shake it vigorously or 2) buy one of those dryer vent cleaners that go on the end of a cordless drill. You can twist it around to get at the spots you can't reach by hand.

Vinegar and water as hot as you can. Throw a power head in it and let it soak. Then rinse and rinse with a hose sprayer
