R/t pump volume in sump

I am trying to save as much space as I can for my refugium I have a 55 gallon refugium/ Sump 150d/t have a drain area with socks -spec'd the skimmer area for reef octopus 200 int. Looking for advice on r/p Area should I sacrifice some of the refugium Area to gain volume for the pump in short more pump volume or fuge space? Pump is sicce syncra pro 1900
