Thanks I will dip him now, but i have no where to QT himCan you easily catch the fish?
I'd recommend a 5min FW dip to see if flukes are present.

They eye is infected but may be from a fluke affliction.
Depending on the result of dip it may need placed in QT and treated with antibiotics.
Still trying to catch himThanks I will dip him now, but i have no where to QT him
Thanks, no only 1 eye other is fine, is this safe for the tank? Are both eyes in the same condition? Erythromycin is the best antibiotic for eye infections.
Ok, he has been in the tank for 18 months and is the boss, he is my favourite fishWith one eye cloudy it usually is from an injury. Depending on the tank, it can be rough on a fish to be placed into a display tank where it will have to compete with other fish for food. Especially if one of it's eyes are not good. It places a lot of stress on the fish.

No tank is not new, no ammonia, little nitrateEither flukes or ammonia burn.
Is tank fairly new? If so, what are your nitrate/nitrate and your ammonia readings?
If fish is eating add some vitamins or garlic to its food for health and stamina
