It's hard to see buy you can definitely tell that it's muted

yeah I took a lot of pictures to get those lol

the diffuser has slowed the shimmer down and also reduced the amount of dark/light patches on the sand.

Those pictures are from the top, from the side the reduction is more noticeable too.

Worth picking one up to see what you think, you can always return it if it’s not for you.

What light do you have? Are you going to design a 3d print to properly fit the diffuser?

It’s only a Kessil A80, but would like to move up the Kessil line in time, printing I have no idea about, I may try putting something together myself or use one of the online custom printing guys, as the lens is so small on Kessil, I don’t think it needs a big solution.

Maybe sticking a small piece of diffuser to the lens with a couple of sticky pads or similar is all it’ll take?, that’ll leave an air gap too.
Thinking about it though I probably would go down the printing route for a cleaner look.

Yeah I would be interested to know, if you find out let me know.
They quote it as “minimal”? I’m thinking at least 20%.
I'll be adding water and cycling my tank in a few weeks. I'll also be playing around with par measurements as well. I'll make the diffusers and take par readings with and without

Forgot about this thread, apparently it’s less than 10%!

Nice! I think I'll do all of my 360x lights and see how it turns out. Depending on results I may do away with the t5 and get more kessils

Yeah the picture I posted with the diffuser is dark, makes the diffuser seem to reduce the light a lot, when in actuality it doesn’t, could be my imagination but the blue light has improved too, looks smoother if that makes sense.

Anyway it’s your turn next, to come up with an attachment for the diffuser

They did them for the for the ap700. When the a360x was advertised, they showed a diffuser and the narrow reflector. I assume they did away with the diffuser.
I'll probably be a month before I get to working on the diffusers. I have a bunch going on with work, but I'll post here when I get around to making them
Are you creating a diffuser for the A360X? If so, I’d be interested in one!
