Radion g2/g3 puck DIY

So I seen this on RC, someone was asking if they can repurpose their g2 puck for a DIY set up... Has anyone done this? At $75 a piece these could be cheaper than the lumia and aurora.

Anyone know anything about this?

are they trying to reproduce just using the same leds? or are they trying to use the radion pcb with the TIR lense?

So what I mean is use this puck with your own drivers and controller.

At $75 for ~20 LEDs, that's not terrible cost-wise, but it's not a bargain either. You'd still have to provide for heat dissipation, figure out the pins, and wire in your own controller. The puck gives a reasonably tight cluster, but getting a few "3-up" clusters that will do just as well. Maybe the only unequivocal positive is that you can use the Ecotech optics.

It's hard to see where you'd be coming in ahead of a typical DIY.

These are Cree LEDs 3 up clusters are $12ea(4 of those $48total) then the other LEDs are $4 each (6 of those $24 total)

So just in LEDs is $72 not including the wiring and effort that it would require to wire them all up together. Then past that everything is the same to the drivers and power and controller.

Thanks you for sharing and I went through the thread on RC last week, You are correct this puck is very similar to Aurora from rapdled. But you mentioned the price and is that for buying radion puck price if so where can I buy this for that price. It will be great if you share link with us for where we can these pucks...
