I'm running the Radion SPS AB+ profile at 100% daytime intensity. At peak intensity throughout the day it reads at 60%.

My SPS (birdsnest) closer to the top of my tank and one of my euphyllia mid-level appear to be bleaching. My params have been pretty solid (9 dkh, 440 calc, 1400mag), so I'm starting to believe my light is set too high.

For those of you using ReefLink, what overall intensity do you run your profiles with? Also, what coral do you keep with that intensity? I changed my overall intensity yesterday to 60% which puts the peak intensity during the day around 40%~

Thanks!

I have gen 3 pro on apex ab+, I run mine at 90% with diffuser on, ran at 60% prior. I used a PAR meter to fine tune mine. My SPS are growing fast at 250 PAR. My corals bleach when my nutrients are low and lights and alk are high.

Thanks for sharing! So let me get this straight. Before you had a diffuser, you ran the "Overall brightness" at 60% (And in doing so, your peak percent was around 30-40%, right?) I'm just trying to make sure what ReefLink shows is what we're talking about haha.

Yes my overall was 60%, apex doesn’t calculate peak But 30-40 sounds right since I run my red, green and white at 24

Ok. Hopefully then I haven't hurt my coral too much running at overall 100% (the default). Like I said, I changed the value to 60% overall last night (I'm also running a 2 week acclimation timer for some new monti's I picked up).

The gen 4 have better spread than the gen 3 which has more hot spots, that’s why I added the diffuser and slowly ramped mine up. To much light will kill coral faster than to little. Only time will tell on your coral, I hope they do recover! If you could borrow a Par meter then you would know more accurately what’s the right intensity. A lot of people use Lux meters as well but I don’t have experience with them.

A $15 lux meter from a amazon will tell you exactly how much to turn up the light to compensate for a diffuser.

I'm not familiar at all with lux meters. How are they different than PAR meters? They sure as hell seem much cheaper...

A par meter calculates the intensity of various specific(desirable ) spectrums to give a value in par.

Lux (also footcandle , lux is metric ),
Measures all of them.

Inside a par meter is actually a lux meter kinda , a photovoltaic sensor.

And you can estimate par with it as well.
